The Aquaponics Greenhouse Cooperative came from a group of Plumley Village residents who started a community garden in 2010, then participated in a forming a community playground in 2012, and have been meeting since summer 2012 about a greenhouse business. They are starting a pilot greenhouse for seedling and micro-green production. They hope to grow their business to larger hoop houses and greenhouses in the area to create a cooperative business that supports urban gardeners and grows healthy food for their community, which is a food desert.
